Each year, since 1989, I have produced a grandmother.  “THE CORN PLANTER”, “THE PERFECT POT”, “THE GRANDMOTHER, “GRANDMOTHER’S PARASOL”, “GRANDMOTHER’S JOY”, “GRANDMOTHER’S ANGEL”, “GRANDMOTHER’S CRADLE” AND “GRANDMOTHER’S WASHDAY”, ”GRANDMOTHER’S NEW ARRIVAL”, “GRANDMOTHER TELLS A STORY”, “GRANDMOTHER’S KISS”, these are all part of this series. 

These figures have been presented in their simplest form with just enough elaboration to excite the action of the subject. In the Pueblo Society, the grandmother is a driving force for all seasons.  It is their wisdom and love that makes this so. The mood I want to create is never frenzied, but calm, deliberate and loving. Some of these pieces will be enlarged, but only if this mood can be enlarged as well.
