The dog soldiers of most Plains Indian tribes had this headdress in some fashion.

I introduced this bust in 1974, but could not cast it to my satisfaction, so it lay dormant. 

The difficulties have been worked out now, but I felt that the piece needed an entirely new design.  I think it is greatly improved.  In fact, now he is so regal that I almost changed the title to “An American Prince.”
